Community Vitality Project Hires New Team Member

Chris Fowler joined the Evans School in December 2008 as a research associate for the Community Vitality Project.  His research interests include the local and global effects of competitive policies, neighborhood segregation, spatial models of competitiveness, and urban policy and planning.

Prior to pursuing his doctoral degree, Fowler worked as an economist and planner for an engineering firm in Portland, Oregon, contemporaneously serving as a Planning Commissioner in the City of Lake Oswego. He is a Fellow of the Brookings Institute’s Center on Social and Economic Dynamics and a member of the Association of American Geographers.

Fowler holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Washington, and a BA in Geography from Dartmouth College.
