Community Vitality Project Team Members Attend Harvard Business School Workshop on the Microeconomics of Competitiveness

Community Vitality Project team members Zbigniew Bochniarz and Chris Fowler participated in a workshop on the Microeconomics of Competitiveness sponsored by the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at the Harvard Business School, from December 11th - 12th, 2008.

The workshop featured sessions led by Michael Porter who discussed his course on the microeconomics of competitiveness.  Community Vitlaity Project team members are invovled in creating a cluster of faculty at the University of Washington who are trained to teach this course. 

Community Vitality Project team members led a brainstorming session at the workshop on the relationship between social capital and economic clusters.  The session discussed how social capital has been defined and measured and what questions about social capital are still unanswered.
